Membership Committee

The Palm Beach County Classroom Teachers Association Membership Committee is charged with devising a plan of action that will effectively maintain and enhance the association’s membership recruitment and retention program.

The committee’s function includes surveying and assessing membership needs, designing and implementing membership drives, and providing continued promotions of the services and benefits offered to members by the CTA/FEA/AFT/NEA family.

Also, the committee assists site representatives with recruitment and retention ideas and the use of other media to publicize the many services and benefits offered through membership in the CTA, FEA, AFT and NEA.  Membership on the committee is open to all CTA members.

The committee meets once a month at the CTA building on the Thursday after the Tuesday Representative Assembly.

CHARGES:

  1. Devise a plan for membership recruitment and retention.
  2. Provide workshops and other opportunities for members to more fully understand and take advantage of the services offered by CTA, FEA, NEA and AFT. Member Services and other economic services/promote benefits of membership.

SPECIFIC CHARGES:

  1. Realize an actual increase of CTA membership by at least 5%.
  2. Develop a full year membership campaign.
  3. Establish and monitor a procedure for CTA (committee members,Board members, Leadership and staff) to respond to member drop letters.
  4. Work with other committees to ensure a membership component is included in all Association activities.
