Professional Development Opportunities and Teacher Support

CTA offers workshops to help you become a a fully certified teacher.  Free workshops for members are offered: How to Pass the General Knowledge Test, the Florida Teaching Certification Exam, and the Elementary Certification Test. Each workshop is FREE to members but is available to non-members for $150.00. That means your membership can save you $450.00 on just these workshops
    
2. CTA offers teachers help to become more successful.  Free workshops for members are offered: How to Have a Successful Evaluation, Good Classroom Management Strategies,  Behavior Management, Teacher Rights and Responsibilities, Effective Planning and Grading, IDEA Update, and Know Your Contract. Each workshop is FREE to members but is available to non-members for $50.00.  You could save $350.00 with your membership

CTA has 5 clerical staff members and 7 Labor Relations Consultants to help you be more successful.  They help to solve problems in areas like: Leaves, Certification, Payroll problems, Workers Compensation, Teacher Evaluations,  Rebuttal Writing, ESE Questions, Alternative Education, and Legal Rights and Responsibilities.

Negotiations

The Classroom Teachers Association (CTA) is the sole bargaining agent for all teachers.  CTA negotiates with the School District for increases salaries, retention of the step increases, supplements, bonuses, and all terms and conditions of employment.

FEA-NEA Retired: An organization for teachers who have retired or are nearing retirement.  FEA-NEA Retired works to increase benefits for retired teachers and the distribution of useful information about living in retirement.  Information including leader contact information is provided.
