GENERAL CHARGES:
1.  Develop and maintain an effective legislative program for Palm Beach County CTA.

SPECIFIC CHARGES:
1. Plan specific activities and develop a calendar that will enhance CTA’s legislative program.

2.  Report to the President, Board of Directors, and the Representative
            Assembly monthly.

3. Present local and state legislative programs to the Board of Directors and Representative Assembly by January RA, if possible.

4.Encourage all eligible teachers to vote.

5. Carry out any activities as directed by the President and Board of Directors.

6. Utilize Lead Representatives as legislative contacts at school sites to facilitate the dispersal of information and educate, inform, involve and engage members in the political process.

7. Lobby legislators and other public officials at home and report to the President.  (Attached are guidelines for selecting a Lobbying Team.)

8. Help coordinate (with PR Committee) American Education Week activities.

9.   Continue to develop lobbying coordination and political alliances.

10.  Monitor and attempt to influence educational development through legislation.
